I have too many hobbies! Not complaining!
Jan 2021, I had 0 hobbies. I was either working for the office or at home. All that changed with a simple conversation with my cousin on an amigurumi doll. She nudged me to try it myself and a couple of weeks later I had started crocheting seriously. Then I started making scrunchies from leftover blouse material and started gifting them away, of course using a bunch of them myself as well! The best part of scrunchies vs normal hair ties - Scrunchies can be spotted anywhere and no matter how hard you try, they do not get lost or thrown in the bin. The converse is true to normal black hair ties. I am glad I can make them for myself now and it is an amazing gift for friends and relatives. Next, my realization that I probably do not suck at art! I remember during my school days, we were presented with a choice - Art or Music. If you know me, you'd know that I cannot sing to save my life! So art it was. My friend Purvi and I marched straight into the art class. We were greeted with an overflowing class of 8th standard boys across the 3 sections and my art teacher. We were politely asked to go to Music class as it was more suitable for girls as opposed to a boys-only art class! I have always been a good student and I did as I was told. Over the years, I never wanted to pursue art because of that experience. What I did in music class was lip-sync along with my friends who were sincere and great singers. And so, after over 20 years, my 6-year-old son made me realize my love for painting and crafts. So, now I have multiple hobbies to pursue and I am loving it. I did miss out on my favourite hobby - writing for a while, but I am back baby!
Until next time, Happy creating!
